In the early morning drive to Haridwar. Essentially a religious center which holds promise of salvation for devotees, Haridwar is also a center of herbal medicine, and traditional studies at Gurukul Kangri.
After arrival visit Har ki Pauri - the sacred Ghat was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. It is believed that Bhartihari eventually came to Haridwar to meditate by the banks of the holy Ganga. When he died, his brother constructed the Ghat in his name which later came to be known as Har-Ki-Pauri. It is the most important Ghat on the River Ganga, where a holy dip is a must for every devotee.
One of ancient temple of Mansa devi located on top of Bilwa Hill. The Name Mansa means wish and it is believed that the goddess fulfils all the wishes of a sincere devotee. Lakshman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge in Rishikesh. As per legend Lord Rama and his younger brother Laxmana crossed the River ganges here.Originay it was jute rope hanging bridge till 1889. The jute-rope bridge was replaced by iron - ropesuspension bridge in 1889, and after it was washed away in the 1924 floods. The current bridge was constructed by the public works department during the year 1927-1929 which replaced the old bridge.In 1986 around 2 Kms from Laxam Jula nearby Shivananda Nagar Ram Jhula was Built. Between Laxam Jhula and Ram Jhula enjoy a walk on bank of River with many meditation centre. After visiting Haridwar Rishikesh drive back to Delhi.
